Job Title: Credit Analyst
Location: London
Salary: £25,000 +

The Company:

Our Client is one of the world's leading Financial Services providers and has global operations.

The Group operates under a number of well known brands and it's product range includes Retail Banking, Wealth Management, Corporate Markets, Global Banking Markets and Insurance.

The Role:

  • Undertake quality credit risk assessments, within agreed service levels, as necessary for potential new Commercial Cards customers (including applications for increased/additional facilities)
  • Ensure quality credit risk assessments are undertaken on a timely basis on all facilities identified as requiring review as a result of monitoring processes and/or requiring annual review
  • Exercise an individual Credit Authority and/or formulate appropriate recommendations, with reference to the Groups policies and the Principles for Managing Credit Risk, to obtain sanction from the appropriate sanctioning authority
  • Ensure that all systems/databases are maintained accurately at all times, for management information reporting
  • Ensure all relevant parties including Commercial Card RMs, Corporate/Commercial RMs and other Credit units, are communicated to throughout the assessment process – including the resultant decision
  • Where material deteriorating concerns are identified, or risk of loss is considered likely, undertake necessary actions to minimise potential loss and/or raise provision as appropriate
  • Liaise with Insolvency Practitioners/Professional Advisors as appropriate
  • Act as a reference point to all of the companies businesses for Credit Risk/Policy issues relating to the Commercial Cards products
  • Continuously evaluate efficiency/effectiveness and assist with implementation of new processes which lead to service improvement

The Person:

  • Ability to interpret financial accounts to determine the creditworthiness of a business
  • Knowledge of non-personal insolvency would potentially be beneficial
  • Basic PC Skills, including familiarity with the Microsoft Office suite of products and other computer based applications
  • Ability to work under pressure to tight time-scales, whilst maintaining quality of work and producing clear, concise reports and analysis
  • Ability to communicate at all levels both internally and externally
  • Needs to possess a passion for continuous improvement
  • Ability to foster an environment which actively promotes teamwork and the sharing of ideas
  • Must be commercially aware of the impact of economic factors on credit risk
  • Active participation in achieving unit objectives
  • Experience of non-personal credit risk assessment practices within the Group, or similar experience in an external environment
