The Company:

Our Client is one of the leading Retail Banks in the UK.

The Group operates under a number of well known brands and it's product range includes Retail Banking, Wealth Management, Corporate Markets, Global Banking Markets and Insurance.

The Role:

• Validate and review Retail Division credit models including internal ratings systems to the agreed standards.
• Validate and review the technical monitoring of Retail Division credit models to the agreed standards.
• Manage the collection and manipulation of data for validation purposes.
• Advise on the enhancement of the development and monitoring methodologies used within Retail. 
• Provide consultancy and advise on the compliance of credit models with Basel requirements and Group Policy across all business units in Retail.
• Liaise with business units to ensure a consistent approach to Basel. 
• Produce documented project work standards and ensure that all projects are run efficiently and effectively.
• Assist in the oversight of stress testing, annual validation, new scorecard developments and parameter developments.

The Person:

• A Statistics or other Maths degree. 
• 2+ years experience within Banking/Financial Services; ideally within Retail banking.
• 2+ years experience in building , validating and monitoring retail risk scorecards, preferably in a Basel enviornment.
• Good presentation skills, particularly report writing.
• SAS or similar programming language.
• A good knowledge of the Basel Accord and ability to interpret requirements (BIPRU) and understand implications for business units.
• Detailed, up-to-date knowledge of statistical/mathematical techniques and Scoring Industry Initiatives.
